Reclaiming furniture that shows potential, refurbishing and upcycling
Reclaiming furniture and home décor that show potential, and then restoring, up-cycling or restyling these pieces. I am open to different styles, but especially inspired by, and lean towards the rustic, vintage, country look, yet giving a modern twist to each piece thus also making it appealing to a wider range of likes and tastes.
My husband is my partner in this venture and he of course tackles most of the hard work like repairing, stripping and sanding. We strive to give one hundred percent and more of ourselves to turn out the best work we can. All our furniture is repaired when necessary, sanded, primed, undercoated and painted and at times distressed, if we decide it would enhance a piece by giving it a shabby chic twist.
Some of the pieces appear to have had rather a rough and sad life before being reclaimed by us and there could be imperfections in these items that cannot be fully fixed, but we treat this as a challenge and make sure that these imperfections will blend in and add to the charm that we attempt to achieve with each piece.
I am a hobby artist as well and paint in oils, mostly figurative and still life work. I also crochet and enjoy other crafts. You may from time to time see some of this handiwork incorporated into the furniture/home décor.
Hope you enjoy visiting.
